As a senior at UMD, when did you start applying for jobs?

I started applying for jobs my spring semester senior year.

What websites or resources did you use when you were applying?

​

I used google, job listing websites (Indeed, CareerBuilder, LinkedIn, etc). I also used http://www.onetonline.org/and http://www.bls.gov/ooh/ to gain information on different career paths and outlooks.

If you could do anything differently about applying for jobs or the job market in general, what would it be?

​

Fortunately I was able to take a strategic career planning class my spring semester that gave me great tips on networking and connecting with employers. I would have gone to more networking events, done more informational interviews and anything that gives me face-to-face interaction with potential opportunities.

Do you enjoy your job/profession at this time?

​

Being completely honest, it isn’t very fulfilling. It is a very entry-level and mundane role with repetitive work. Although, I know that it is a stepping stone and opportunity to gain experience at a great company. That keeps me looking up!
