Q2: As a senior at UMD, when did you start applying for jobs?

 

I started searching for jobs and internships summer of 2016 and applied fall 2016.

Q3: What websites or resources did you use when you were applying?

My field is very specific so I used the Child Life Council website and searched specific hospital websites that I was interested in. I am also a part of a Facebook group of aspiring child life specialists throughout the country and there are a lot of resources that we share there.

 

Q4:  If you could do anything differently about applying for jobs or the job market in general, what would it be?

​

The application process was lengthy and even though I set a time frame for myself I wish I would have stuck closer to it to save myself some stress. For my specific field I wish the application process was more mainstreamed across hospitals but I know that is something that the Child Life Council is working towards.

 

Q5: Do you enjoy your job/profession at this time?

I do enjoy what I am doing. I am looking forward to the opportunities that my position has for me to further myself in my career.
